What is generative AI, and how can my business use it?
Generative AI learns patterns from huge amounts of examples and uses them to produce something new whenever it's asked: a piece of text, an image, a table, a program. Language models, like Claude or ChatGPT, are its best-known form.
It produces fast, polished output, but it doesn't know whether what it says is true. That's why it works best as a tool in the hands of someone who knows the subject, not as an unsupervised author.
Why it matters to your business
Used well, it saves a business hours of work on mockups, replies, analysis, and code. Used carelessly, it publishes mistakes under your name or fills your page with generic text that says nothing about your business. The difference comes down to feeding it real information and reviewing what it produces.
How we use this at Damorus
By directing AI, we built the URG Technology store and the Atlantic Center system, and this site is made the same way. We also used AI to design La Roca's business cards in Spanish, English, and German, produced in HTML and CSS with a print-ready version. What we don't do is fabricate proof: when La Roca's team half-jokingly asked if we could create reviews with AI-generated faces, we said no.
