Next.js
A programming tool, built on React, for making fast websites that Google can read easily.
What is Next.js, and why is it used for professional websites?
Next.js is an open-source framework, maintained by Vercel, built on top of React. It handles things React leaves open on its own: routing for each page, generating the HTML on the server or ahead of time, image optimization, and connecting to server-side functions.
A page built with Next.js can arrive at the browser already assembled, which helps it load fast and lets search engines read all the content, and from there it behaves like an app, with no reloads while navigating.
Why it matters to your business
For a business that depends on showing up in Google and looking good on a phone, the technical foundation matters. Next.js lets you start with a handful of pages and add a blog, case studies, a store, or a dashboard on the same structure, without switching technology once the project is already well underway.
How we use this at Damorus
This site, Damorus Projects, is built with Next.js 15 and its App Router, React 19, Tailwind CSS 3.4, and framer-motion 11, in JavaScript. The text for projects, services, and this dictionary lives in data files kept separate from the design, which makes it easier to add case studies and, later on, other languages. Client mockups, like Küsten Elite and Pastime Lanes, live as static sites inside a single Next.js project, each on its own subpath.
