PSE (online bank debit payments in Colombia)

The online payment button that debits money directly from a bank or e-deposit account in Colombia.

What is PSE, and how do I accept PSE payments in my store?

PSE is ACH Colombia's service for making purchases and payments online by debiting money straight from a savings, checking, or electronic deposit account. The buyer picks their bank, logs into their own bank's platform, authorizes the payment, and returns to the store.

It works around the clock, and its list of participating institutions includes the major banks as well as wallets like Nequi and Daviplata. For a reader outside Colombia, it's similar to paying with an online bank debit, no card involved.

Why it matters to your business

PSE lets someone who'd rather not use a card online, or doesn't have one, pay with the account they already use. A Colombian store that doesn't offer it shuts those buyers out.

How we use this at Damorus

Mercado Pago's Checkout Pro, the gateway we integrated at URG Technology, includes PSE among its payment methods in Colombia, so a store can offer it without a separate integration. At La Roca, where the sale closes over WhatsApp, the site doesn't charge online at all.
