Claude Code

A program from Anthropic that lets the Claude AI read code, edit files, and run commands.

What is Claude Code, and how is it used to build a project?

Anthropic describes Claude Code as an agentic coding tool that reads your codebase, edits files, runs commands, and integrates with your development tools. It runs in the terminal, in editors like VS Code, in a desktop app, and in the browser.

Unlike a chat, it works directly on the project's real files and can ask for permission before taking an action. It can also split a task across several agents that move forward in parallel, coordinated by a lead agent.

Why it matters to your business

For a business owner, what matters is the method it enables. A project can be broken into small tasks, each one completed and verified against the real code, with a record of what changed. That shortens timelines without skipping review, as long as someone knows what to ask for and what to check.

How we use this at Damorus

This site is built in Claude Code sessions from a master document with written rules, like never repeating an image or never publishing a figure without a source. Large tasks get split among agents working in parallel, and this glossary is one of those deliverables. We teach that same method to businesses that want to adopt it with their own team.
