React

A programming tool for building websites and apps from reusable pieces, like a menu or button.

What is React, and why do so many websites and online stores get built with it?

React is an open-source library, created at Facebook, now Meta, for building user interfaces. The screen is assembled from components, pieces written once and reused everywhere, and when a piece of data changes, React updates only the part of the screen that depends on it.

On its own it doesn't come with routing or a server, so it's usually paired with other tools, like Next.js or Vite.

Why it matters to your business

With components, a brand or data change gets made once and applies across the whole site, which brings maintenance costs down. Because so many people know it, it's also easier to find someone to work on it, so your project isn't locked to a single provider.

How we use this at Damorus

This site is built with React 19 on top of Next.js 15. URG Technology uses React 19 with Vite 6, and its three product-page formats all come from the same component, so changing one piece of data changes it in all three. The earlier Damorus portfolio was also built with React, Vite, Tailwind, and Framer Motion.
