Frequently asked questions

Got questions? Here are the answers

Pricing, payments, timelines, warranty, and how it all works, explained simply. If you still have questions, write to us: we would rather you understand everything before you decide.

Getting started

What does Damorus Projects do?+

We are an engineering, science and AI studio between Bogotá and Berlin. We build websites, online stores, web apps and custom software for businesses in Colombia, the United States and Europe, of any size and in any industry. We also offer 1-on-1 AI coaching for people who want to learn to build their own tools.

How do I start a project with you?+

There are two ways in: book a free 30-minute video call, or answer four questions about your idea on Start and we will write back within two business days. Then we show you a free mockup and agree on scope and price in writing. Only after that do you pay and we build.

What is the free mockup, and why ask for one?+

It is a first visual version of your project, made for your business: how your website or system would look, with your brand, your sections and the way your customers will buy or book. You see it before you pay, with no commitment, so you decide with something real in hand. Ask for it on a free video call or in Start.

Do I need to know how to code or understand technology?+

No. You tell us how your business works and we take care of the technical side, explained in plain language. If you would rather learn to build your own tools with AI, that is what our AI coaching is for.

Prices and payment

How much does a project cost?+

We have three plans with "from" prices: Silver, to launch fast, from $1.000.000 COP$500 USD€500 EUR; Gold, to sell and grow, from $4.000.000 COP$1,500 USD€1,500 EUR; and Diamond, custom and with no ceiling, from $8.000.000 COP$5,000 USD€5,000 EUR. These prices already include a discount for small businesses. The final price depends on what you need and we agree on it in writing before we start; if you want to add something later, we quote it separately and you decide. Compare the plans on Pricing.

How and when do I pay?+

You pay 30% to get started and 70% on delivery. If it works better for you, we split the payment into installments we agree on together. We accept bank transfers in Colombia, the United States and Europe, and cryptocurrency, and for international clients we can also take cards and wallets such as Visa, Mastercard and PayPal. Before you pay, you have already seen your mockup and have the final price in writing.

Is there a monthly fee? What does the price include?+

For most projects, no: you pay once. Some, like software that needs servers and ongoing support, carry a monthly fee, and we tell you in the quote before we start. The price includes the first year of hosting, domain, security certificate and backups, the 2-year warranty, and the updates in your plan. From year two there is an annual renewal by plan, shown on Pricing.

What if I run a large company?+

For large companies and corporations we put a dedicated team on your operation and bill by the day of work, from $800.000 COP$200 USD€200 EUR a day. There are no long-term contracts, and it includes regular meetings and progress reports and confidentiality agreements. This plan has no discount. Tell us about your case on a video call.

Discount and currency

Who gets the 50% discount?+

Small businesses, entrepreneurs and independent professionals. The "from" prices you see on the site already include that discount. If you are not sure which group you belong to, we work it out together on the video call.

What if my company is already established?+

Mid-sized and large companies with a track record pay the regular price, which is double the discounted one, for the same plan. You can see both on Pricing. The Corporate plan, which is billed by the day, has no discount.

Why do I see prices in my currency, and how do I change it?+

We show each price in one currency, the one that fits where you are: euros (EUR) in Europe, US dollars (USD) in most of the world, and local pesos if you are in Colombia. You can switch at any time with the currency selector on the Pricing page. Dollars and euros carry the same number.

What we build

What kinds of projects do you build?+

Custom websites, online stores with payments, web apps, desktop and cloud software, admin dashboards, automations and migrations of old programs. We also do SEO, GEO, brand design and sites in English, Spanish and German. The full catalog is on Services, and what we have already built is on Projects.

Can you build an online store with payments?+

Yes. We build stores with a catalog, cart, card payments, automatic emails and a dashboard to manage products and orders. For one-of-a-kind items, the store holds the piece while the customer pays, so it can never be sold twice. We did this for , with more than 290 products: the store is 95% built and waiting to launch.

Can you replace an old program without losing my data?+

Yes. We first study the old system and its files, keep the way your team already works, and migrate the data. At , a swim school in Bogotá, we moved 22,483 records from a 1996 DOS program to a system that now handles about 390 students, works without internet and updates remotely, like a phone app, with a triple backup.

Website and software connected

What does “website and software connected” mean?+

It means your website and the program you use to run your business talk to each other. When a customer orders, books or pays on your website, it shows up instantly in your management software, with nobody retyping it. You save time, avoid mistakes and see how the business is doing in one place.

Can I keep the software I already use?+

Yes. You do not have to change everything: we look at what already works and build only the missing pieces, such as the website or the link between your site and that software. On the video call we check which program you use and what can be connected. If one part is holding your operation back, it can also be replaced in stages.

Will I be able to change text, prices or products myself?+

On Gold and Diamond, yes: they include a private dashboard to manage your own content, like products, orders and text, without touching any code, and we show you how to use it at delivery. On Silver, those changes are requested as updates.

AI coaching

What is the AI coaching, and who is it for?+

It is one-hour, online 1-on-1 sessions by video call with Alejandro Ujueta, in English or Spanish, to learn to build your own website, software or automations with AI. It works for a business, a startup, freelance work or an idea, and it can also be taught to your kids or your team. You do not need to know how to code. You start with a free 30-minute assessment on AI coaching.

How much does the AI coaching cost?+

There are three plans: Silver (1 session), Gold (4) and Diamond (8), and the more sessions you take, the more you save compared with buying them one by one. While launch spots last, our first 10 clients get 50% off. If your first paid session did not meet your expectations, we give you your money back. Current prices are on AI coaching.

Should I learn to build it or have you build it?+

If you want to understand and run your own tool, take the coaching. If you would rather tell us the idea and get it finished, hire a project. You can combine them: what you paid for sessions can be deducted if you later hire a project with us. On the free video call we tell you which path fits.

Timelines and process

How long does a project take?+

It depends on the plan: Silver, around a week; Gold, 2 to 5 weeks; Diamond, custom to the scope. The catalog, for example, was ready in under a week. Timelines start once we receive the down payment and what you need to provide: content, access and approvals.

What happens on the free 30-minute video call?+

You tell us your idea and what you want to achieve, we explain how we would build it, and we give you a price range and timeline. It is free and with no commitment, in English, Spanish or German. The calendar uses your time zone and the meeting link arrives by email. Book here.

How do you build so fast? Do you use artificial intelligence?+

Yes. We build with AI agents, such as Claude Code, directed by the founder, and we review and test everything before delivery. That is how we do in weeks what used to take months. We stand behind the result with the 2-year warranty, whatever tools we use under the hood.

What do I need to provide for the project to move forward?+

Mainly your content (text, photos, your logo if you have one), any access we need, and your approvals on time. Whatever you do not have yet, we talk through on the video call. At delivery you have 10 business days to tell us about anything that is not as agreed, and we fix it at no cost.

Ownership and warranty

Is the project mine once I finish paying?+

Yes, for custom projects. Once the full price is paid, the rights to what we built for you, like the code, designs and documentation, become yours, and your data always was. Our generic tools and components stay ours, and you get a perpetual license to use them in your project. The details are in the terms and conditions.

What happens after delivery?+

We show you how to use what we built, and it goes live. For 2 years, if something we delivered does not work as agreed, we fix it for free, and depending on your plan you have update hours included. We do not disappear: after delivery we stay available for adjustments and new ideas.

What does the warranty cover, and how do update hours work?+

The 2-year warranty is your peace of mind: if something does not work as we agreed, we fix it for free. An update is something new or different you ask for later, like changing copy or adding a section. Gold includes 3 hours a month for 3 months and Diamond 6 hours a month for 6 months; on Silver, every update is quoted. Each request is estimated before we do it, and unused hours do not carry over to the next month.

What happens if I do not renew hosting and the domain?+

Without the annual renewal we cannot keep the hosting, domain, certificate and backups active, and those services may be suspended. If you decide not to renew, on request we hand over the domain and the files so you can move them to another provider. You can also ask for that transfer at any time after paying the full price.

Before you hire us

What do I get in writing before I pay?+

Along with the free mockup we give you everything you need to decide with peace of mind: what is included and what is not, timelines, price, a contract and any clauses you want to review. We adjust it with you until you are happy, and you only pay the 30 % once you approve it.

Who owns the domain, the hosting and the database?+

If you do not have a domain, we buy it for you as part of the price. The domain and hosting cost you nothing the first year while we manage them, and if you want them in your own account we transfer them, no problem. The database is created from day one in an account of yours, not ours, so your information is always in your name.

How often are backups made, and how is information restored?+

Your information is backed up every week and we always keep the most recent copy, so if something happens we can restore it. If you want more versions kept, for example one for each week of the last month, we keep as many as you like. For management software we add more layers, like copies on your own computers and in an account of yours, just as with .

How and when do I get support?+

By WhatsApp or email, Monday to Saturday, and we reply within 24 business hours. Improvements and updates reach you remotely, with nothing for you to install.

Who builds my project, and what happens if something fails later?+

Alejandro, the founder, directs and reviews every project, and we build with AI agents. We test everything before delivery, and anything that touches money, like payments and billing, gets automated tests. If something fails later and it is part of what we agreed, we fix it for free for 2 years.

How do I know if my website is selling?+

Your site comes with its own dashboard: you see how many people visit, where they come from and how many message you, book or buy. Not just visits, but the results that matter for your business.

Getting found

Will my business show up on Google and in assistants like ChatGPT?+

We set your site up so Google and AI assistants can understand it and recommend it: speed, clear structure, structured data, well-written FAQs and files made for AI, like llms.txt. That is called SEO and GEO. It comes with every plan, in more depth on Gold and Diamond. It is work that builds up over time.

Do you guarantee I will rank first or sell more?+

No, and be careful with anyone who promises it: nobody controls what Google or AI assistants decide. What we do guarantee is solid technical work and that what we deliver works as agreed. A real example is , which was not on the internet and now gets messages from customers in other cities without paying for ads.

What is SEO, and why does it matter?+

SEO, search engine optimization, is the work that gets Google to show your site when someone searches for what you offer. It covers the technical side, like speed, structure, structured data, and the sitemap, as well as the content: pages that answer what people are searching for, in the words they actually use. Good SEO brings in customers who arrive on their own, without paying for every click, though it takes time, since results build up at the search engines’ own pace. Every site we deliver ships ready for Google to understand and rank it.

What does it mean to show up in AI answers?+

More and more people, instead of typing search keywords, ask an AI assistant like ChatGPT or Google’s AI directly: "who does this near me?" GEO, generative engine optimization, means preparing your site with clear, verifiable information so those AI tools understand it and recommend it. It relies on well-written FAQs, structured data, copy with concrete facts, and machine-readable files like llms.txt. It complements SEO, and we set it up from day one.

Working from other countries

Do you work with clients outside Colombia?+

Yes. We work with businesses in Colombia, the United States, Europe and Latin America, always by video call, in English, Spanish or German. The studio is between Bogotá and Berlin, and the meeting calendar adjusts to your time zone.

I am outside Colombia. How do I pay?+

By bank transfer in the United States or Europe, or with cryptocurrency. If you prefer, we can also take international cards and wallets. You will see prices in your currency, euros in Europe or dollars elsewhere, and the final amount is set in writing in the quote.

The basics

What is a domain name, and who pays for it?+

A domain name is your site’s address on the internet, what people type or share to find you, like yourbusiness.com. It is registered for a set period and has to be renewed; if it lapses, the site and any email addresses tied to that name stop working. Your domain also carries the records that confirm to other services that the emails you send are legitimate. In our plans, registering your domain and keeping it active for the first year is included; from the second year on it falls under the annual renewal.

What is web hosting?+

Hosting is the service that stores your site’s files on servers connected to the internet around the clock, so the site loads whenever someone visits. Think of the domain as your address and hosting as the building where your business actually sits. It can be shared hosting or a platform that serves static sites and functions on demand. In our plans, the first year is included, and from the second year on it falls under the annual renewal.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee to maintain the site?+

There is no monthly fee for maintenance in our plans. Maintaining a site means keeping it online and working: active hosting, a renewed domain, a valid certificate, up-to-date backups, and someone watching that nothing breaks. All of that is included the first year, with a 2-year warranty: if something we delivered does not work as agreed, we fix it at no cost. From the second year on, there is an annual renewal starting at USD 30 on Silver. The only added cost would come if your project stores a large amount of data and goes past the free limits of the services we use, and we would flag that well in advance. Updates, meaning new content, features, or sections, are quoted separately: Gold includes three months at three hours a month, Diamond six months at six hours a month, and on Silver they are quoted by block.

What is a database, and why does it sometimes cost more?+

A database is the organized place where a site or program stores information that changes: products, orders, customers, payments, messages. It is structured with rules so a piece of data can be found quickly and never contradicts another. For small and medium projects, the database services we use have a free tier that covers far more than enough. Only if your project grows a lot and stores or moves a large amount of data does that service start charging, and that would be the only added cost, one we would flag well ahead of time.

Protection

Will my site actually be protected?+

Website security is built in layers, because no single measure is enough on its own, and every one of our projects ships with a baseline layer: Cloudflare as a shield between your site and the world, password protection, defense against flood attacks (DDoS), and against attempts to break in through forms (SQL injection). For projects handling sensitive data, the Diamond plan adds specialized data protection, scoped to what that project stores and who uses it.

What is Cloudflare?+

Cloudflare is a company with a network that a site’s traffic passes through before reaching the server. Along the way it filters out dangerous visits and bots, and caches files close to each visitor so pages load faster. If the site comes under attack, that network absorbs most of the impact. It also has specific tools, like Turnstile, a check that tells people apart from bots without making them solve puzzles. It comes included in our projects, and there is nothing for you to configure.

What is a DDoS attack?+

DDoS stands for distributed denial of service. Someone directs a large number of devices, sometimes infected gadgets their owners do not even know about, to request pages from your site all at once, until the server cannot keep up and stops responding to real visitors. The defense is a shield in front of the site that recognizes abnormal traffic and filters it out before it reaches the server, so your customers can keep getting through while the attack lasts.

What is SQL injection?+

SQL is the language used to query most databases. In a SQL injection, an attacker types a piece of that language, disguised as ordinary input, into a form field or a page’s address, hoping the system will run it as a command and hand over information or delete something. The main defense is building queries so that whatever a user types is always treated as data, never as a command. On top of that, we add filters that block the attempt before it ever reaches the site.

What happens if something gets damaged or deleted?+

A backup is a duplicate of your information that lets you restore it if a drive fails, a virus locks it up, someone deletes it by mistake, or a device gets stolen. We keep copies of your project so we can roll it back to a point where it was working. The 3-2-1 rule sums up good practice: 3 copies of every important file (the original plus 2 backups), on 2 different types of media, with 1 copy stored off-site. That is how the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) explains it in its guide to backup options.

What is two-factor authentication?+

Two-factor authentication asks for two different proofs before letting someone into a private area, like your dashboard: something you know, the password, and something you have, usually your phone. The app’s code changes every few seconds and only works once. That way, even if someone guesses or steals your password, they cannot get in without your phone. We turn it on for dashboards that handle sensitive information.

Selling online

What is a payment gateway?+

A payment gateway is the service that processes an online purchase: it takes the customer’s payment, talks to the bank or card network, and tells your store whether it was approved. The money reaches your account without you having to confirm anything by hand. With a hosted checkout, like Stripe Checkout, card details are entered on the gateway’s own page and your store never stores them. There are local and global gateways, and the right choice depends on where your customers are and how they prefer to pay. We integrate whichever works best for your business.

What is an admin dashboard?+

An admin dashboard is a private, password-protected area of the site where you run the business without touching any code: add products, view sales, confirm payments, track shipments, and update copy or prices. The public site is what the customer sees; the dashboard is what you manage behind the scenes. A good dashboard is built for the person who will use it every day, in their own words, showing the numbers they actually need to see.

How we build it

What is the backend?+

The backend is the part of a system that runs on the server, away from the customer’s screen. That is where the database, business rules, charges, and automatic emails all live. What the customer sees and touches is called the frontend. A solid project needs both halves done well. A beautiful frontend paired with a weak backend works fine until the day two people buy the last unit at once, or a payment fails to confirm.
