A/B testing
Showing two versions of a page to different visitors to measure which gets more inquiries or sales.
What is an A/B test, and how do I know which version of my page sells more?
In an A/B test, one group of visitors sees version A and another sees version B, chosen at random and at the same time. At the end, you compare which version drove more of the action you were after, like more messages or more purchases.
For the result to mean anything, you need enough traffic and you need to change only one thing at a time. With too few visits, the difference between A and B can be pure chance.
Why it matters to your business
Opinions about design are never in short supply, and an A/B test settles them with actual customer behavior instead. For a business with steady traffic, it's an orderly way to improve conversion without redesigning everything each time.
How we use this at Damorus
We haven't run A/B tests with real traffic on our published projects yet. La Roca gets steady traffic, but until its sales are connected to the dashboard, there's no way to measure which version sells more. What we do instead is put clickable options in front of the client before deciding anything: for La Roca we built four design proposals and the client chose the mountain, and for Küsten Elite we proposed ten headlines in three languages and six mobile mockups.
