CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
An organized record of a company's customers: who bought, how much, when, and what is still pending.
What is a CRM, and does my small business actually need one?
CRM stands for customer relationship management. In practice it is a customer database with purchase history, messages, follow-ups, and notes, so anyone on the team can see where things stand with any given customer.
It can be a large platform or a simple module built into your store's dashboard. What matters is that it fills itself in from what already happens in the business, because a CRM that depends on someone copying data by hand gets out of date fast.
Why it matters to your business
Selling again to a customer who already trusted you once is usually easier than winning a new one, and that requires knowing what they bought and how long it has been since they came back. A CRM also helps with data law compliance: if someone asks you to delete their information, you know exactly where it lives.
How we use this at Damorus
In URG Technology the dashboard has Comunidad URG, a lightweight CRM that fills itself in: every confirmed payment looks up the customer by their ID number, adds the order to their history, and updates how much they have spent in total. You can sort by value, filter who bought in a given month, or find customers who have not come back in over six months, and the right-to-be-forgotten request gets carried out from that same screen.
