Cloudflare

A company whose network blocks harmful visits to a site and helps its pages load faster.

What is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is a company with a network that a site's traffic passes through before it reaches the server. There, it filters out dangerous visits and bots, and it keeps copies of the site's files close to each visitor so they load faster. If the site comes under attack, that network absorbs most of the impact.

It also has specific tools, like Turnstile, a check that tells people apart from bots without making anyone solve a puzzle. It comes included in our projects, and you never have to configure anything.

Why it matters to your business

A small site gets hit with bots and automated attacks just like a large one, because those programs crawl the internet testing every address they find. Having a shield in front reduces the risk of downtime and break-in attempts, without you having to pay anyone to watch the traffic.

How we use this at Damorus

Cloudflare is part of the basic security on all of our plans, with protection against DDoS attacks and SQL injection attempts. In URG Technology we also use Cloudflare Turnstile at the entrance to the admin dashboard, alongside a wait time that doubles with every failed password attempt, plus two-factor authentication.
