Small business
A small business with staff and customers; in Colombia it is classified by its annual revenue.
What counts as a small business in Colombia, and what kind of website does it need?
For us, a small business is one with staff and customers that's already up and running and needs order. In Colombia, Decree 957 of 2019 defines it by annual ordinary income, in UVT, the same Colombian tax unit used to size companies: in manufacturing, more than 23,563 and up to 204,995 UVT; in services, more than 32,988 and up to 131,951 UVT; in retail, more than 44,769 and up to 431,196 UVT.
Below those thresholds is the micro-business category: up to 23,563 UVT in manufacturing, 32,988 in services, and 44,769 in retail. Day to day, it's common for a business this size to track customers in a notebook or a spreadsheet, and orders over chat.
Why it matters to your business
At this stage, disorder starts to cost real money, with lost orders and forgotten invoices. A website that builds trust and a system that brings order to the operation let the business grow without hiring someone just to patch the gaps.
How we use this at Damorus
We build websites for small businesses, and also the systems that bring order behind the scenes. La Roca, a small business with no technical staff, has a 22-page catalog with WhatsApp ordering and its own analytics, built in 4 to 5 days as an example of the Silver plan. Atlantic Center went from a 1996 program tied to a single computer to a system on two or more computers that enrolls students and balances the books. This size usually fits our Gold plan, starting at $4.000.000 COP$1,500 USD€1,500 EUR, and we'll cover it soon on our page for small businesses.
